Report: Georgia loses depth at WR; Demetris Robertson enters NCAA Transfer Portal

According to DawgNation, Georgia’s sixth-year senior wide receiver Demetris Robertson has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Robertson is now free to be in contact with other schools.

The Savannah, Ga., native signed with Georgia in 2018 after two seasons at Cal where he earned Freshman All-American honors. Robertson hasn’t stood out on the stat sheet, last year catching 12 passes for 112 yards, but he has played in 32 games for the Bulldogs and his experience was expected to be a big help for Georgia in the fall.

Robertson has seen limited playing time since coming to Athens, and was that was likely to continue in 2021 with newcomer Arik Gilbert joining the wide receiver group. Factor in Kearis Jackson, Jermaine Burton, Arian Smith and Adonai Mitchell, and Robertson would likely have seen the bulk of his playing time as a return man.

During his UGA career, Robertson made 43 receptions for 443 yards with three receiving touchdowns.
