Will Reichard scoring record: Alabama kicker sets SEC, NCAA all-time points total

Alabama football kicker Will Reichard previously held the SEC record for all-time points scored, and against Georgia in the SEC championship game, he broke the NCAA record.

Reichard, a Hoover, Alabama, native, made a 43-yard field goal on Saturday against Georgia to break the NCAA record for all-time points scored by any player. In the Iron Bowl against Auburn, he tied the impressive NCAA record with two field goals and three PATs.

The fifth-year kicker previously set the SEC's scoring record with his first-quarter PAT against Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 14, breaking a tie with former Auburn kicker and NFL All-Pro Daniel Carlson for the conference.

Will Reichard sets NCAA scoring record

Reichard broke the NCAA's all-time points record in the first quarter of the SEC championship game against Georgia after nailing a 43-yard field goal.

The fifth-year senior kicker previously tied the mark in the Iron Bowl against Auburn, when he made two field goals and three PATs.

Reichard finished the 2023 season 22 of 25 on field goal attempts, with a long of 52 yards against Michigan in the Rose Bowl. He has also was perfect on extra point attempts, going 55 of 55.

Perhaps the best kicker in Alabama football history, Reichard has scored an NCAA-record 547 points and counting, as of the Rose Bowl Game vs. Michigan.

He has scored 120 points this season on 22 field goals and 55 extra points as of the Rose Bowl vs. Michigan.

SEC record for most points scored

Reichard set the record for most career points in the SEC on Saturday, Oct. 14, with a first-quarter PAT against Arkansas. The previous record was set by Daniel Carlson, who kicked at Auburn from 2014-17.

Carlson is a two-time All-Pro, landing on the NFL’s second team in 2021 and first team in 2022. Ironically, he also tied the NCAA career mark vs. the Tigers during the Crimson Tide's 27-24 win on Nov. 25. NCAA record for most points scored

Reichard now holds the NCAA record for most all-time points, passing former Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds' mark of 530 points. Reynolds scored 88 touchdowns and a 2-point conversion from 2012-15.

The previous NCAA record for all-time points by a kicker was set by former Oklahoma kicker Austin Seibert, who scored 499 career points from 2015-18.

Reichard, finished his careere with 547 points scored, 17 points more than Reynolds. The Alabama kicker tied Navy quarterback with his third extra point attempt against Auburn. Here is where he stands among the all-time leading scorers:

Alabama record for made field goals

Reichard tied, then set, yet another mark in Alabama's Rose Bowl game vs. Michigan: He passed Leigh Tiffin for the most made field goals in Alabama history, with 84. Tiffin held the previous mark at 83 made field goals from 2006-2009. He completed 83 of 111 field goal attempts, good for 74.8% percent.

Reichard converted 84 of 100 attempts, good for 84%.
