Regular seasons wrap up for Adrian College, Siena Heights

Adrian baseball won its MIAA regular season finale series opener against Albion on Thursday, 4-3.

The Bulldogs celebrated their seniors as well as head coach Craig Rainey after he eclipsed 800 wins this season.

Jakob Charles got the win as he went five innings and gave up three runs, on four hits and a walk while striking out four. Luc St. Antoine went 2.2 shutout innings, giving up six hits and no walks with four strikeouts before Lincoln Lipinski (Onsted) got the save in 1.1 innings, allowing one hit and no walks.

Nic Bruder had three hits with an RBI while Joe Casale had two hits and David Kedrow had two hits with two RBIs.

Adrian completed the sweep at Albion on Friday, winning 12-6 and 11-8.

Bruder, Rolando Jimenez and AJ Miranda all had three hits with a double in Game 1 of the doubleheader while Kedrow had two with a double and Ryan Davis had two hits as well. Landon Kozlowski got the win, going 3.1 shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk while striking out two.

Bruder and Kedrow added three more hits in the second game with Kedrow hitting another double while Jimenez hit a double and drove in four runs. Jaxon Clark got the win, going 6.1 innings, giving up five runs (three earned), on 10 hits and no walks while striking out three.

Adrian added a final home game against Penn State Behrend, losing 6-5. Tripp Russo took the loss while Charles hit a triple and Miranda added three hits.

Finish strong

The Bulldogs softball teaam crushed Olivet for a pair of MIAA wins on Wednesday, 12-0 and 21-1.

Karson Bagelmann was 7-for-8 with four RBIs and seven runs, two doubles, a triple and four steals. Taylor Gerhardt went 4-for-6 with three RBIs, three runs and three steals while Makenzi Johnson went 4-for-5 with an RBI and four runs.

Overall, the Bulldogs collected 33 runs on 34 hits, 10 of which were for extra bases. Adrian also swiped 12 bases.

Macee Schang got the Game 1 win, going four innings and giving up a hit and a walk while striking out four. Abbi Patton went four innings and gave up a run, on a hit and no walks while striking out five.

Adrian split its final MIAA doubleheader, winning 12-4 before falling 3-0.

Schang got the win, giving up four unearned runs while allowing two hits and four walks while striking out five. Hailey DeChalk went 3-for-3 with a double and six RBIs while Gerhardt went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three RBIs.

Abbi Patton took the loss in Game 2 while Peyton Russell went 2-for-3 with a double.

On top the podium

Adrian track got four event wins at Calvin on Friday.

Cameron Overmyer won the men's pole vault (15-feet-7-inches) while Ciara Heslet won the high jump (5-5.25), Keith Scott won the discus (147-06) and Emme Koutz won the 800 (2:14.74).

WHAC titles

The Saints women took fourth in the WHAC track and field championships while the men placed fifth while Indiana Tech swept the meets.

Jordan Harris won the men's shot put title at 48-7.46 while Margherita Conrad won the women's pole vault at 12-07.57.
