Recruiting never stops.

Florida State offensive coordinator Walt Bell got married earlier this week, but that didn’t deter him from texting with Trey Sanders, the No. 1 running back prospect in the country.

Sanders, who plays for IMG Academy, told Warchant.com that he was the first person Bell texted on the morning of his wedding. Yes, really.

“I was the first person he texted in the morning,” Sanders said with a laugh. “He told me, ‘It’s the big day!’”

Sanders said when he first saw the text, he couldn’t believe it. At the same time, he appreciates how much Bell — and the FSU staff as a whole — wants him to join the Seminoles.

“I woke up and I was like, ‘huh?’ I went back to sleep and woke back up and I didn’t think it was real,” he said. “It’s just surreal to have schools coming at you like this and to have the opportunity to change your family’s life.”

Whether that kind of effort — Sanders says the entire staff texts him every day — pays off in the form of a commitment remains to be seen.

Oh, and if you were wondering, Bell’s bride doesn’t seem to mind her man recruiting on the morning of their wedding. That just comes with the territory when you marry a college football coach, I suppose.
