Recapping the 2024 UIL State Track for Wichita Falls area athletes

Twenty-two medals were brought home by area track athletes at the UIL State Track Meet held over the weekend at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

Holliday’s Noah Strohman was responsible for three of the nine gold medals, becoming the area’s first athlete to sweep the three distance races (800, 1600, 3,200).

Half of the medals earned came on Thursday from 3A athletes as City View’s Jeremiah Durham (200), plus Vernon’s Jackson Aydelott (400) and Kameron Plyler (high jump) also took gold.

Riding a gold medal in the mile relay plus silver medals from the 4x100 and Lily Cunningham’s 300 hurdles, the Throckmorton girls had the area’s best team finish, taking second in Class A behind Roby.

The Holliday boys finished third — one point behind co-champs Yoakum and Hallettsville — while the Holliday girls also finished third thanks to Kenli Atwood’s two silvers. Here’s a look at every area medal earned in Austin:
