MEHOCK RECAP: A robust performance: Lex hits it out of the park, wins 91st Mehock
*Lucas’ Kailyn Caugherty had four hits as the Cubs beat Plymouth 13-10 at the MVD Invite.
*Ontario’s Brinlee Kreger had five hits and six RBIs in two victories over Galion and Perkins.
*Madison’s Layla Azmoun allowed one unearned run on four hits with 11 strikeouts in seven innings of work in a 12-1 win over Clyde.
*Clear Fork’s Katrina Rogers had seven hits, nine RBIs and three home runs combined in three games for the Colts which included wins over Pleasant and Lucas.
*Shelby’s Mallary Gundrum had eight hits, seven RBIs and a home run over the Whippets’ four games last week which included two wins over Highland.
*Crestview’s Sophie Durbin had three hits, three runs scores and three steals in a 15-5 win over South Central.
*Lexington’s Makaree Chapman tossed a six-inning perfect game in an 11-0 win over Wooster where she struck out 10 while also adding three hits and three RBIs at the plate.
*Shelby’s Madison Henkel won the long jump with a leap of 18 feet 9.5 inches at the 91st Mehock Relays setting a new meet and school record.
*Lexington’s Makenna Arnholt won the 100-meter dash with a time of 16.61 at the Edison Invitational.
Voting ends at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Last week's winner was Crestview's PJ Endicott who piled up 9,064 votes.
