Reactions: Cincinnati Reds' Jonathan India named National League Rookie of the Year

Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India was named Monday night as the 2021 National League Rookie of the Year.

National Baseball Hall of Famer and former Reds great Johnny Bench made the announcement on MLB Network. India earned 29 of 30 first-place votes, with FanGraphs' Dan Szymborski - one of two Cincinnati-based Baseball Writers' Association of America voters - giving the Miami Marlins' Trevor Rogers the only first-place vote India did not receive.

India is the first Cincinnati Reds' player named the NL's Rookie of the Year since Scott Williamson in 1999.

The Reds' Tyler Stephenson received two third-place Rookie of the Year votes, and pitcher Vladimir Gutierrez received one third-place vote.
