Ravens Select Alabama’s Marlon Humphrey
In a somewhat shocking move the Baltimore Ravens selected Alabama’s Marlon Humphrey. Everyone expected Ozzie Newsome to go with an Alabama guy but not Humphrey. Even the cover32 Ravens staff did not see this one coming as shown by this tweet shortly before the pick.

Tight end O.J. Howard, defensive end Jonathan Allen, and middle linebacker Reuben Foster were all still on the board when the Ravens selected their first pick, 16th overall in the first round.
Humphrey does fill a need at cornerback. Baltimore is looking to rebuild their defense which was particularly bad in pass protection. The Ravens selected a lockdown, man corner, with outstanding physical characteristics.

Over 30 starts in college football’s best conference, Humphrey intercepted five passes and broke up 13. He started the past two season’s in college football’s best defense.
