Ravens QB Lamar Jackson discusses the importance of being at OTAs

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson signed his five-year extension last month, and after the fact it wasn’t known if he’d show up to voluntary organized team activities or not. Although the star didn’t show up for the first day of the workouts, he was in the facility and on the field on Wednesday, a sight for sore eyes for many.

Jackson was asked why he felt it was important to be at OTAs, and was simple and concise in his answer. He mentioned the fact that the team is putting in a new offense under Todd Monken, and wanting to get it “down pat” before the 2023 season comes along in full force.

“New offense – I had to get that down pat before the season rolls in, because the season is getting nearer. Even though we’ve got a couple months left, still, I just wanted to learn the new offense and get with my guys.”
