Ravens earn stellar grade from Pro Football Focus for 2018 draft class

The Baltimore Ravens have had many great rookie classes over the course of their franchise history. The team uses the draft to add young talent with plenty of potential to their team, and they’ve been great at finding prospects that end up contributing immediately as well as far into the future.

One of Baltimore’s best draft classes to date is from the 2018 festivities. Over the course of the weekend the organization was able to bring in multiple high-level contributors, many of which have become staples on the Ravens’ current team. When giving out draft grades for the 2018 draft for every team, Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus gave Baltimore an A+, mentioning players such as quarterback Lamar Jackson and tight end Mark Andrews that put the Ravens’ 2018 class over the top.

“When a team drafts an MVP with the 32nd overall pick, chances are that it had an A+ draft. When it gets two more Pro-Bowlers in the third round, chances are that team had an all-time draft. The Ravens’ 2018 draft class is certainly among the five best over the past decade…Even the Hurst selection looks far better when you realize the Ravens were able to recoup a second-rounder that they turned into J.K. Dobbins. This draft really set the stage for the Ravens offense we’ve seen the past few years.”

Jackson and Andrews have been the two biggest gems of the class, but there are others who have already made big impacts during their NFL careers such as offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr., cornerback Anthony Averett, safety DeShon Elliott, and center Bradley Bozeman. Baltimore drafted at least six players in 2018 who are now considered quality starters at the NFL level, which is the mark of an absolutely incredible draft haul.
