Rated Class B teams Warner (No. 1), Castlewood (No. 4) and Colman-Egan (No. 5) record wins

WATERTOWN — Sioux Falls O'Gorman rallied to record a 3-2 high school volleyball victory over fourth-rated Class AA Watertown on Tuesday night in the Civic Arena.

The Knights (3-1) prevailed 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, 25-20 and 15-9 over the 6-3 Arrows.

"We let a match get away from us," said Watertown head coach Rosemary Bellum. "This (homecoming) week is difficult. There's too many distractions and its easy to forget to pay attention to fine details."

Emery Thury produced 15 kills and Emily Tisher and Eve Hauger each 11 for the Arrows. Thury also had 20 good serves with two aces and one solo and two block assists. Carter Jurrens added one solo block and one block assist.

"Our front row needs to terminate the ball and find holes in the other team's defense," said Bellum. "We still need to find out "what it will take" to block the opponent's attack. This is a problem area we have to continue to find a solution for."

Other Arrow leaders were Addi Johnston, 15 good serves; Paige McAreavey, 16 good serves and three aces and 15 digs; Miranda Falconer, 47 assists and 20 digs; and Natalie Pearson, 15 digs.

"Our serving was great again and our back row put up good, playable digs," said Bellum, whose team is set to host Tea Area at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Civic Arena.

Castlewood 3, Deuel 0

CASTLEWOOD — The fourth-rated Class B Warriors won 25-19, 25-15 and 25-12.

Leaders for Castlewood included Emerson Carter with three aces, eight kills and two solo and two block assists; Kylie Wittnebel, 19-21 serving with eight digs; Nora Solberg, 9-9 serving; Gracie Haug, 35 assists; Presley Knecht, 22 kills and nine digs; Cassidy Kirwan, four kills and Kailyn Larson, 17 digs.

Josie Andersen made five kills and five assists, Sara Jo Kreger five assists, Ella Kerkvliet eight digs and Camdyn Peterreins and Annika Kriz each four digs for Deuel.

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Aberdeen Christian 0

ABERDEEN — Katelyn Schroeder smacked 13 kills and Rebecca Huizenga 11 to power Hitchcock-Tulare to the 25-22, 25-8 and 25-21 win.

Lila Johnson contributed 26 assists, Ella Johnson 10 aces and Cambree Hoekman 11 digs.

Estelline-Hendricks 3, Great Plains Lutheran 1

WATERTOWN — Estelline-Hendricks pushed its record to 11-1 by beating the Panthers 18-25, 25-6, 25-14 and 25-20.

Abby Kjenstad finished with 15 kills, Olivia Holmen nine kills and three solo and four block assists, Jolie Lien 15 digs, Madeline Prahl 12 digs and 15 assists, Esta Cameron 12 digs, Kate Holmen four solo blocks and Kaitlyn Rawerts 12 asssits for GPL (8-6). Rawerts also was 11-11 serving and O. Holmen 9-10.

ARLINGTON — The Cardinals recorded the sweep (25-6, 25-10, 25-14) with the help of 28 assists from Issie Steffensen, nine kills from Addie Steffensen and even kills, seven assists and nine digs from Jo Steffensen.

Harley Johnson pitched in with seven kills and 14 digs.

Warner 3, Ipswich 0

WARNER — No. 1 Class B Warner improved to 16-0 by winning 25-5, 25-11 and 25-3.

Leaders for the Monarchs were Haleigh Holt, 10-11 serving with four aces and seven digs; Ava Nilsson, 12-13 serving with three aces, 27 assists and three block assists; Courtney Bjorgaard, 11-11 serving with two aces; Reagan Wood, two aces; Lauren Marcuson, 11 kills and nine digs; Kyleigh Schopp, seven kills and two block assists; and Kyra Marcuson, six kills.

Marley Guthmiller made two aces, Reaghan Bowers two assitss and four digs and Charli Rawden three digs for Ipswich.

Miller 3, Northwestern 2

MELLETTE — Paige Werdel produced 18 kills and Aleah Schlechter 13 to lift Miller past No. 3 Class B Northwestern 16-25, 25-19, 24-26, 20-25, 15-12.

Schlechter also had three block assists and 31 digs and Werdel two block assists. Jolie Palmer was 16-18 serving with four aces, two assists and 24 digs; Heather Roesel 13-15 serving with three aces and 45 assists; and Shaylee Anderberg 16-19 serving with two aces, nine kills and 26 digs. Kate Lichty had three block assists.

Tara Blachford was 24-25 serving with six aces and Sophia Troske 17-17 serving for Northwestern. Ashley Haven notched 13 kills, 35 digs and one solo and five block assists; Payton Grandpre 10 kills, 25 digs and two block assists; Ana Ratigan, eight kills and three block assists; Ella Boekelheide, 35 assists; and Taylor Vetter 24 digs.

Milbank 3, Waubay-Summit 0

SUMMIT — The visiting Bulldogs produced a 25-21, 25-15 and 25-13 non-conference win.

Leaders for the host Mustangs were Kylee Marx with four kills, two aces and seven digs; Faith Larson, two kills, two aces and 10 assists; Brianna Lindholm, 10 digs; and Liza Purdy, nine digs.

VOLGA — The Cossacks won the Lake Central Conference match 25-13, 25-15 and 25-18.

Adison Renkly (14 kills and seven digs), Kaedyn Sapp (six kills, eight aces and 15 digs), Allie Hofer (six kills), Caitlin Russell (seven digs), Michaela Gerasch (11 assists), Talya Vincent (10 digs) and Sunny Hesby (21 assists) paced Sioux Valley.

Hazel Luethmers paced De Smet with nine kills and six digs. Alyssa Asleson added seven assists and nine digs, Megan Dylla eight assists and seven digs and Harper Anderson six digs.

Florence-Henry 3, Clark-Willow Lake 0

WILLOW LAKE — Taylor Watson and Caylin Kelly each hammered 16 kills to spark the Cyclones to the 25-16, 26-24 and 25-22 win.

Kelly also contributed 24 digs, three solo blocks and one block assists. MaShia McQuin was 15-15 serving and Kaija Gusso 14-14 with three aces, 31 assists and 21 digs. Kate Hulscher added three solo and two block assists.

Faulkton Area 3, Leola-Frederick 1

FAULKTON — Addison Melius went 23-23 serving with 21 kills and 21 digs for Faulkton Area, which won 25-18, 25-20, 23-25 and 25-21.

Kelli Stoecker finished 17-17 serving and Tegan Baloun added 26 assists, Micah Martinmaas 22 assists and Carley Cotton 16 kills and 21 digs.

Jocelynn Ellwein made 25 assists and four blocks, Sofia Losure 14 kills and 22 digs, Kaitlyn Mueller two aces and seven kills, Jillian Ellwein two aces and Laura Sumption 27 digs and five blocks for LFA.

Sunshine Bible Academy 3, Crow Creek 0

MILLER — Sunshine Bible (1-7) broke into the win column with a 25-15, 25-15 and 25-17 victory.

Sadie Konechne went 14-15 serving with an ace and nine kills and Addison Pearl 20-20 serving with four aces for the Crusaders, who also got five assists each from Betra Amare and Abby Hinman six kills and three blocks from Annaliese VanZee and two blocks from Lydia Lo.

Colman-Egan 3, McCook Central-Montrose 1

COLMAN — Daniela Lee tallied 14 kills and 19 digs and Brynlee Landis 12 and 17 to guide the fifth-rated Class B Hawks to the 23-25, 25-16, 25-17 and 29-27 win.

Lanie Mousel added 23 assists, Kaylee Voelker 18 assists and Presley Luze and Kaylee Voelker 14 digs apiece for Colman-Egan.

Abby Wagner's 10 kills, Maddy Lauck's 20 assists and Lexie Lunders' 21 digs pace McCook Central-Montrose.

SIOUX FALLS — Lincoln notched the 25-18, 25-23 and 25-15 non-conference win over the Golden Eagles (6-2).

Sawyer Bahr (16-17 serving with six aces), Grace Kuch (10 kills), Lauryn Burckhardt (six kills), Ayrlie Waldo (17 assists and nine digs) and Madison Miller (11 digs) led Aberdeen Central.

Aberdeen Roncalli 3, Hamlin

ABERDEEN — McKenna O'Keefe tallied two aces, six kills and 12 digs, Ava Hanson 13 kills and Camryn Bain two aces and 18 digs to leda Roncalli to the 25-21, 25-20 and 25-20 Northeast Conference win.

Addie Neuendorf had two aces, nine assists, nine kills and five digs for Hamlin. Marissa Bawdon added two aces, 10 assists and six kills, Emily Everson five kills and Grace Opdahl 15 digs.

Mobridge-Pollock 3, Timber Lake 0

MOBRIDGE — The Tigers won 25-13, 25-21 and 25-13.

Leaders for Mobridge-Pollock included Regan Weisbeck, two aces and seven digs; Ryli Thompson, two aces and nine kills; Raelyn Aberle, nine kills; Charley Henderson, nine kills, Katy Kemnitz, 17 assists; and Sophia Overland, 11 assists.

Jasmine Nash recorded six kills, Kendyl Locken 14 assists, Averie Marshall 22 digs and Kessa Bigger 13 digs for Timber Lake.
