Rated Class B teams Warner (No. 1) and Northwestern (No. 3) post 3-0 wins

HURON — Fourth-rated Watertown recorded a 3-0 sweep over fifth-rated and previously-unbeaten Huron on Tuesday night.

The Arrows (5-2) won 25-20, 25-21 and 25-23. The loss dropped the Tigers to 6-1.

"Huron is always a great competitor and makes it difficult to get a win," said Watertown head coach Rosemary Bellum. "The girls played well against a very good Huron defense. Huron blocked well and picked up a lot of digs."

Emery Thury again led the way for the Arrows, going 13-for-13 serving with three aces and 31-37 spiking with 13 kills and 15 digs. Addi Johnston went 11-13 serving with two aces and 11 digs and Natalie Pearson 8-10 serving with two aces and 17 digs.

Emily Tisher finished 35-39 spiking with 10 kills and Carter Jurrens 19-21 with seven. Miranda Falconer was 115-116 setting with 36 assists. Eve Hauger and Hannah Herzog each had one solo and two block assists.

"We battled back in all three sets to finish and the girls served strong and continued to attack even when they became frustrated," said Bellum. "We need to work on limiting our own unforced errors."

Watertown visits Brandon Valley on Saturday.

Castlewood 3, Waverly-South Shore 0

WAVERLY — Gracie Haug converted 19 of 21 serves with three aces, 21 assists and seven digs to lead Castlewood to the 25-13, 25-16 and 25-20 non-conference win.

Kylie Wittnebel was 17-20 serving with three aces. Presley Knecht chipped in with 12 kills and eight digs, Emerson Carter five kills and one solo and one block assists, Ella Hunter three kills, and Kailyn Larson seven digs for the Warriors.

Clark-Willow Lake 3, Wilmot 0

CLARK — The Cyclones' 25-16, 25-9 and 25-9 win featured six aces, five kills and two digs from Hannah Heiman and three aces and 12 assists from Zoe Nichols.

Shelby Anderson had four kills, Zoey Helkenn two aces and two digs, Avery Lee two digs, Sara Thonvold six blocks and Shay Michalski five blocks.

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Faulkton Area 1

TULARE — Katelyn Schroeder's 15 kills and 18 digs and Lila Johnson's 30 assists sparked the host Patriots to the 25-22, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-11 win.

Ella Johnson contributed nine kills and also was 20-22 serving. Gracyn Bixler went 17-18 serving with two aces. Cambree Hoekman pitched in with 18 digs and Isabel Gilbert one solo and three block assists.

Carley Cotton paced the Trojans with 16 kills and 27 digs. Micah Martinmaas notched 21 assists, Tegan Baloun 15 assists, Addison Melius 28 digs and Jaymi Senn three kills and two solo blocks. Anna Aesoph was 26-28 serving with two aces.

Great Plains Lutheran 3, Milbank 2

MILBANK — Great Plains Lutheran won the five-set battle 25-13, 14-25, 11-25, 26-24 and 15-4.

Abby Kjenstad (12 kills and 22 digs), Kaylee Carlson (seven kills and one solo and three block assists), Esta Cameron (five kills), Madeline Prahl (18-19 serving with two aces and 15 assists), Kaitlyn Rawerts (16-16 serving with 15 assists), Olivia Holmen (four block assists) and Grace Powers (21 digs) led the Panthers.

The Bulldogs received 16 assists, 18 kills and 25 digs from Rachel Schulte. Addisyn Krause contributed 22 assists and 14 digs, Ella Sandvig eight assists and 32 digs, Skyler Skoog 16 kills and 20 digs, Siera Wenzl 25 digs and Shaylee Schuchard two solo blocks and one block assists.

Estelline-Hendricks 3, Colman-Egan 2

COLMAN — Estelline-Hendricks improved to 6-0 by beating No. 5 Class B Colman-Egan 23-25, 25-16, 25-22, 23-25 and 15-3 in the Dakota Valley Conference match.

Kenzy Beare led the way with 28 kills, three aces, 18 digs, four solo blocks and one block assist. Sadie Johnson accumulated 34 assists and 41 digs and Presly Bury 12 assists, five block assists and 30 digs.

De Smet 3, Deuel 1

CLEAR LAKE — Hazel Luethmers recorded 21 kills, three aces and four blocks to guide the Bulldogs to the 25-19, 25-20, 16-25 and 25-17 Lake Central Conference win.

Other key contributors for the Bulldogs were Megan Dylla, 17 assists; Mirra Beck, seven kills and 10 digs; Brooke Jennings, four kills and eight digs; and Alyssa Asleson, 12 assists and 11 digs.

Josie Anderson produced eight kills, 13 assists, and 14 digs for Deuel. Kaitlyn Gubrud had two aces and five kills, Annika Kriz six kills and 13 digs, Sara Jo Kreger 12 asssits, Ella Kerkvliet 15 digs, Emma Sattler 2.5 blocks and Hope Bjerke two blocks.

Warner 3, Miller 0

MILLER — Kyleigh Schopp and Kyra and Lauren Marcuson combined for 27 kills to lead top-rated Class B Warner (9-0) to the 25-18, 25-16, 25-16 win.

Schopp had 11 kills, Kyra Marcuson nine and Lauren Marcuson seven to go with two two aces and 10 digs. Courtney Bjorgaard had four aces and 14 digs, Schopp two aces and two block assists and Libby Scepaniak 15 assists.

Miller's leaders were Aleah Schlechter, seven kills; Shaylee Anderberg, six kills and four digs; Paige Wendel, five kills; Heather Resel, 17 assists; and Jolie Palmer, 20 digs.

Flandreau 3, Deubrook Area 0

WHITE — Claire Sheppard's 15 kills, eight blocks and two aces powered the Fliers to a 25-23, 25-14 and 25-18 victory.

Lizzie Pavlis tallied eight kills and three blocks, Lily Klein eight kills and 24 digs, Sadie Iott 13 digs and Abby Schoberl 24 assists for Flandreau.

Matte Bauman garnered five kills, seven assists and two blocks for the host Dolphins. Hanna Kjelden added six kills, Madalyn Bauman eight assists, Delaney Pedersen nine digs, Carly Engelstad five digs and Zoey Molengraaf three blocks.

Aberdeen Roncalli 3, Florence-Henry 0

HENRY — Ava Hanson smacked 14 kills and Jaidyn Feickert 13 for the Cavaliers, who won 25-13, 25-20 and 25-19.

Hanson also had one solo and one block assists. McKenna O'Keefe contributed two aces and 10 digs, Maddie Huber two aces and 11 assists, Faith Danielson 16 assists and Camryn Bain 19 digs for Roncalli.

Caylin Kelly led the Falcons with two aces, eight kills, 18 digs and one solo and two block assists. Taylor Watson went 12-12 serving and also made three kills and 15 digs. Kate Hulscher added five kills and one solo and two block assists; Kyra Tschakert four block assists and Kaija Gusso 12 assists.

Northwestern 3, Herreid-Selby Area 0

MELLETTE — Third-rated Class B Northwestern posted the 25-21, 25-19 and 25-21 sweep with the help of Ashley Haven's 21 kills, three aces, 34 digs and three block assists.

Taylor Vetter went 15-15 serving with 15 digs. Ella Boekelheide contributed six kills, 29 assists, 19 digs and two block assists and Ana Ratigan five kills.

HSA's leaders included Jada Rossow (three aces, seven kills and three blocks), Pausha Meidinger (two aces and 21 assists), Mya Ebel (nine kills and 27 digs), Jordyn Rossow (eight kills and three blocks), Steph Allbee (30 digs) and Sophia Ritter (22 assists).

Highmore-Harrold 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 1

MILLER — Addison McDonnell's 14 kills and Kendall Cermak's 111 kills, five aces and two blocks propelled Highmore-Harrold to the 14-25, 25-20, 25-8 and 25-12 win.

Brooklyn Baloun contributed five aces, 19 assists and 21 digs and Calli Chavez 15 digs.

SBA's leaders included Sadie Konechne (two aces and six kills), Betra Amare (three assists and four digs), Lydia Lo (four aces), Annaliese VanZee (three kills) and Abby Hinman (three blocks and three digs).

Mobridge-Pollock 3, North Central 0

MOBRIDGE — The Tigers improved to 5-0 with the 25-13, 25-18 and 25-17 win.

Sophia Overland tallied three aces and 15 assists, Charley Henderson 10 kills and 15 digs, Ryli Thompson six kills and two aces, Katy Kemnitz two aces and 17 assists, Reagan Weisbeck 16 digs and Raelyn Aberle two aces, eight kills and five digs for the Tigers.

Jenisa Jacobs made 16 digs, Natalie Bieber three blocks, Ella Batie seven kills, Sydney Bertsch 14 assists and Amree Vander Vorst four kills, two aces and two blocks for North Central.

Langford Area 3, Aberdeen Christian 0

LANGFORD — The host Lions won 25-21, 25-12 and 25-14.

Jolie Fogarty made five kills, 10 digs and two blocks for Aberdeen Christian. Sawyer Schwan added four aces and eight assists, Chloe Bosma five kills, Alexis Isakson 28 digs and Payton Skarin three kills and nine digs.

Groton Area 3, Webster Area 0

WEBSTER — Groton Area won the Northeast Conference match 25-23, 25-12 and 25-14.

Webster Area leaders included Baylie Somsen, 12-13 serving with an ace and three assists; Katie Braun, 11-12 serving with three assists, three kills and 13 digs; Gracie Cadwell, five kills and 14 digs; and Payton Snell, three kills.
