Rams LB Kenny Young ejected from Colts game for making contact with official

Los Angeles Rams linebacker Kenny Young was ejected from Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts for making contact with an official.

The play came with 5:05 remaining in the third quarter as the Colts approached the end zone. Colts running back Jonathan Taylor received the handoff and was stopped for a loss of 1 yard at the Rams' 4-yard line. Colts receiver Zach Pascal was then flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct, taunting penalty.

Young took exception to the taunt and gestured toward an official, but he was too close to the official and grazed the official's hat. The official then threw a penalty flag and, after a long conference with the other members of the crew, Young was given an offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, and was disqualified for making contact with an official.

While the conference was happening with the officiating crew, a pair of Rams all-pro defenders in defensive tackle Aaron Donald and cornerback Jalen Ramsey went over to talk to Young.

Three plays later, the Colts closed the deficit on an 8-yard touchdown pass to Pascal. After Indianapolis converted the two-point conversion, the Colts cut the lead to 17-14.
