Rams clinch playoff berth thanks to Steelers’ win vs. Seahawks
In a year where very few people expected the Rams to win more than seven games, they’re going to play a postseason game. Los Angeles punched its ticket to the playoffs on Sunday after beating the New York Giants and watching the Seattle Seahawks lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Rams beat the Giants, 26-25, while the Steelers upset the Seahawks on the road, 30-23.
The Rams are the No. 6 seed in the NFC, which they will lock up with a win over the 49ers next week. If the playoffs began today, they would play the Detroit Lions in the first round, which would be a marquee matchup between Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff.

After going 5-12 and missing the playoffs last year, the Rams bounced back in a big way this season by winning nine games with one week still remaining. They’ve now made the postseason in five of Sean McVay’s first seven seasons as a head coach, only missing the playoffs in 2019 and 2022.
They’ve also clinched a winning record for the sixth time in seven seasons under McVay after failing to record a winning season in any of the previous 13 years before McVay was hired.
