Rams add QB Bryce Perkins to active roster for Week 17

The Los Angeles Rams will have three quarterbacks available against the Cardinals on Sunday. In addition to John Wolford and Blake Bortles, Bryce Perkins will also be on the active roster for the season finale.

The Rams promoted him from the practice squad as a COVID-19 replacement Saturday. This does not mean he’s on the 53-man roster beyond this week, however. It’s merely a temporary elevation thanks to new league rules amid the pandemic.

Perkins was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia this year and has remained on the practice squad all year. He’s a true dual-threat quarterback, possessing the ability to pick up big yards on the ground.

It’s unclear if Bortles or Perkins will back up Wolford on Sunday with Jared Goff out.
