Quinn Ewers named to 247Sports’ 10 quarterbacks to watch during spring ball

The expectations for Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers continue to grow as the days go on.

While the Ohio State transfer had just a couple handoffs under his belt during his lone season in Columbus, there is a nationwide expectation that he will ascend to the top of the college football world.

The reason for this being the fact that Ewers held the highest rating possible as a high school recruit. Elite quarterback play is something that has been eluding the Longhorns for quite some time, and now that Ewers is on campus, there is a hope that he can deliver.

Media sites such as 247Sports are confident that he has the ability to do so as well, as he was included in their 10 quarterbacks to watch during spring ball. Here is what they said about Texas’ new gunslinger:

Will Quinn Ewers, the former top prospect in the country per the 247Sports Composite, be the savior next season for the Longhorns? Steve Sarkisian recently explained how he had to recruit Ewers twice and in the end, it worked out for Texas.

“I’ve recruited him at the past place I was at. Obviously, he had been committed here before,” Sarkisian said in December. “He reclassifies and goes early to Ohio State and it’s just amazing how everything kind of comes full circle for him and for us. He’s a heck of a player. He’s a heck of a talent. I think there’s a big sigh of relief for him. I think this is where he kind of wanted to be. Now we start the process of the development of him in our system and with the players around him and see how far we can take it.”

Texas badly needs for Ewers to live up to his high expectations in order to help turn around a program that has been stuck in mediocrity for a decade.
