Professional boxing set to return to El Paso in November at El Paso County Coliseum

Professional boxing is returning to El Paso on Nov. 3 at the El Paso County Coliseum.

The fight card, which is expected to have between eight and 10 fights, will feature El Paso boxing prospects Jorge Tovar, Stephanie Han, Victor Aranda and Joshua Ramirez. King's Promotions is putting on the show.

Tovar, 25, is probably the most recognizable name on the card. He's 6-0 with all six wins by stoppage. Han, who took several years off after a successful amateur career, is 4-0. Las Cruces female boxer Amy Salinas is also on the card. Tovar was a standout amateur from El Paso as was Aranda.

Tovar, who has been fighting near the super middleweight limit of 168 pounds and Han were both in action in March at the El Paso County Coliseum and won their fights by stoppage.

El Paso's Jorge Tovar, black gloves, and Odessa's Emany Rendon compete in the main event of the Throw Down In Chuco Town boxing match at the El Paso County Coliseum on Friday, March 10, 2023.

"Training has gone well, I feel excited for this fight, I'm looking forward to fighting with this promotional company," Tovar said. "I had a couple of fights fall through this summer, but I try to see the brightness in everything and I think this fight will be bigger than the ones in the past. I just need to keep working hard and working on being a better all-around fighter."
