Pro Rodeo Roundup: Logan Cook wins saddle bronc competition in Waxahatchie

Mar. 24—Several cowboys from Cherokee County had success on the professional rodeo circuit this weekend.

Saddle bronc rider Logan Cook of Alto earned first place at the Ellis County Stock Show and Rodeo in Waxahatchie and came in second place at the Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo.

Cook, who currently sits in eighth place in the world standings, scored an 87.5 for his ride atop of New Star Rodeo's Southpoint Buckle in Waxahatchie and posted a score of 82.5 for his ride on Code Blue in Nacogdoches.

Cook pocketed winnings totaling $2,324 and $1,184, respectively.

In team roping, the Jacksonville duo of Jayse Tettenhorst and Troll Tettenhorst finished with a time of 5.2 seconds, which put them tied for third place in Nacogdoches.

Each man earned $954 for his efforts.
