Pro Football Focus Releases More Informational Analysis On Michigan Players
Lon Horwedel
After releasing several informative pieces of analysis on numerous Michigan players yesterday through tweets, Pro Football Focus released two more on Wednesday afternoon.
The publication stated that the Wolverines' defensive end duo — sophomore Rashan Gary and redshirt junior Chase Winovich — are two of the best returning edge rushers in the conference.
Winovich was given a grade of 14.4, which was second-best in the league among returnees, trailing only Ohio State sophomore Nick Bosa, who graded out at 14.9
At 12.8, Gary came in as the fifth-best returning edge rusher in the Big Ten, trailing the aforementioned Bosa and Winovich, along with Indiana senior Robert McCray and Ohio State fifth-year senior Tyquan Lewis.

Pro Football Focus also released a factoid on redshirt junior quarterback Wilton Speight, explaining that his 113.8 grade on deep balls — attempts of 20 or more yards downfield — is the best among returning Big Ten quarterbacks. Penn State redshirt junior Trace McSorley checked in second at 107.8, and Northwestern redshirt junior Clayton Thorson third at 94.8.
No returning Big 10 QB threw the deep pass better than Wilton Speight last season.
