PREP ROUNDUP: Moss leads Marlins by Dolphins, 7-3

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Arnold freshman pitcher Cooper Moss struck out 11 batters in five innings and drove in three runs at the plate to lift the Marlins (5-0) to a 7-3 victory over Mosley on Thursday night.

Moss gave up one earned run on three hits and two walks, with Ethan Gil pitching the final two innings and striking out three more. Hudson Rowan took the loss for the Dolphins (3-1), surrendering four earned runs on one hit and seven walks with four strikeouts in three innings.

Warrick Wilmot led the Arnold offense going 2 for 2 with two walks, two runs, and an RBI, while Christian Corona and Brayden Black both had a hit, a walk, and two runs. Sam Mudge also had a hit and two RBI.

Luke Elmore had two hits and two RBI for the Dolphins, while Trevor Allan hit a solo home run. Cole Horton and Trent Nelson each had a hit and scored a run.

Bozeman 8, Marianna 2

MARIANNA — Big nights on the mound from Jeremy Todd and at the plate from Brody Langlotz lifted the Bucks past the Bulldogs for a 5-0 start to the season.

Todd went the distance and struck out 16 batters while allowing just two hits and no walks, with only one of Marianna's two runs being earned. Offensively, Langlotz drove in five of Bozeman's eight runs with two hits, including a home run and a triple.

Peyton Gay added two hits and scored two runs, with Ben McDonald adding a hit and a run. Todd and Connor Smith also had an RBI apiece. Corey Williams had a solo home run for the Bulldogs (3-2).

Rutherford 1, Cottondale 0

COTTONDALE — Joshua Aguon pitched a complete game shutout to give Rutherford the win despite the Rams not collecting a single hit offensively.

Aguon allowed just three hits and three walks while striking out seven, with Jude Haser taking the loss for the Hornets despite surrendering just one unearned run on two hits and four walks with 12 strikeouts in six innings.

Mark Miller walked and scored on two straight passed balls to give Rutherford its only run of the game in the top of the sixth inning. Dylan Tyus, Malachi Larson, and Lukas Ohler had the only hits for Cottondale.

Franklin County 7, North Bay Haven 2

EASTPOINT — The Seahawks scored six runs in the fifth inning to run away with the win, with Blakely Curry picking up two hits and two RBI while Dane Mallon had a hit and two RBI.

Cody Abercrombie pitched six scoreless, hitless innings and struck out nine batters while allowing just two walks to get the victory.

Bozeman 16, Bay 1

PANAMA CITY — Whitney Rogers had three hits and three runs to lead the Bucks (1-3) while Chloe Le had two hits and three RBI.

Zoe Batton also had a hit, two runs, and three RBI, with Dakota Kilpatrick adding a hit, two runs, and two RBI. Haylee Deegins pitched two innings and gave up one unearned run on three hits with a strikeout to get the win.

Kylie Cannone, Arianna Arnold, and Faith Miller had the only three hits for the Tornadoes (0-3).

Holmes County 12, North Bay Haven 9

LYNN HAVEN — Harley Peel had four hits and two RBI to lead the Blue Devils, while Faith McGowan had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBI, and Marissa Barnes had two hits and two RBI. Marah Harrison also had two hits and an RBI.

Holmes County overcame a monster night by North Bay Haven eighth grader Kaylee Goodpaster, who went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and six RBI. Alex Wilson added two hits, a run, and an RBI, with Hannah Brown picking up a double and two RBI.
