Prep Roundup: Harbor Light wins 13th straight, defeats Gaylord St. Mary; TC Central girls hoops claims outright BNC title for first time since 2017

Feb. 9—HARBOR SPRINGS — The Harbor Light boys basketball team has done nothing but collect wins left and right during the 2023-24 season.

"Last year, when we lost in our district finals game, we didn't have any seniors, and these boys have bought into our program and the process that we have by buying into playing team defense," Harbor Light boys basketball head coach Jason Roussin said. "When you do that, you can start to reap rewards; so obviously, it's been a lot of fun for these guys."

Harbor Light (15-2, 8-1 Northern Lakes) picked up its 13th straight win on Friday after defeating Gaylord St. Mary, 52-20. Harbor Light hasn't won 14 games overall in a season since the 2010-11 campaign when they finished 15-4 overall.

Trett Kruser led with 15 points.

The Swordsmen host Harbor Springs on Monday followed by Alanson on Tuesday for a chance to have a stronghold on the Northern Lakes Conference race. The Snowbirds (11-7, 8-5 Ski Valley) host Central Lake on Tuesday.
