PREP GIRLS GOLF: Local golfers move out of regional
Sep. 28—DANVILLE — Three local golfers were able to advance out of Thursday's IHSA Class 1A girls golf sectional at Harrison Park.
Salt Fork's Amelia Birge advanced with a score of 88, while Hoopeston Area's Taylor Page had a 94 and Schlarman Academy's Cheyenne Lutz scored 100.
St. Thomas More won the meet with Ashley Wells taking medalist honors for the Sabers at a 76. Tri-Valley and Monticello were also able to take team qualifying spots.
Westville finished in a tie for ninth with Katelyn Callahan leading the way a 109 and Hoopeston Area was 11th with a score of 457.
Birge, Page and Lutz will next play Monday at the Lakeshore Golf Course in Taylorville in a sectional meet.
