How Predators forward Filip Forsberg, wife Erin Alvey announced they are expecting baby

Oh, (it's a) boy.

Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg is going to be a father for the first time.

The 29-year-old and his wife, Erin Alvey, announced on Instagram on Sunday morning that they are expecting their first child in May.

"Baby Boy Forsberg joining the fun in May 2024," she wrote below several photos of her and Forsberg.

One of the photos was an ultrasound with a handlebar mustache, similar to the one Forsberg wears, superimposed on the baby's face.

Another photo shows Alvey, belly exposed, standing next to a sitting Forsberg holding ultrasound pictures.

Forsberg and Alvey, a country music singer, married in July 2022 in a castle in France.

"An unbelievable day and night from start to finish, we really couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding day," Forsberg told People magazine then. "All of our friends and family having the best time together, Erin more beautiful than ever before, just an incredible time."

Forsberg is the Predators' all-time leading goal scorer with 261.

He leads Nashville in goals (22) and points (48) this season and was selected to play in this year's NHL All-Star Game in Toronto.

He is in the second season of an eight-year, $68 million contract extension.
