Plymouth freshman Alana Allen wins pair of sectional titles at Bremen

Freshman Alana Allen came home with a pair of sectional titles in the 100 and 200 as Plymouth finished as team runnerup at the IHSAA girls track Bremen Sectional Tuesday night.

Culver Academies won 10 of the 16 total event to run away with the team title, 151-98, over Plymouth.

Allen won the 100 in a time of 12.82 and then took the 200 in 26.28.

The only other Tribune area champ at Bremen was Plymouth's Jersey Hunter, another freshman, who clocked 15.63 to win the 100 hurdles.

At Warsaw

Warsaw won five events to outdistance Concord, 129-89.5, in its own Warsaw Sectional.

Elkhart's Shaniya Hughes was a double winner, claiming the high jump (5-2) and the long jump (17-.25).

Concord won three events on its way to the runnerup finish. The 4x100 relay team of Jaylah Leggett, Jocelyn Jones-Perry, Reagan Cooper and Allison DeFreese won in 50.24. Macie Swinehart won the shot put (41-8.75) for the Minuteman while Ryleigh Robinson won the pole vault (10-3).

Northridge, which finished third overall, had a trio of winners. The 4x800 relay foursome of Hadley Troyer, Dakotah Moore, Haylee Hile and Tamenech Baylis won in 9:37.90 and then Hile won the 3,2000 in 11:30.68. Alyssa Sloop claimed the 300 hurdles (48.89) for the Raiders.

Hannah Chupp of NorthWood won the 100 hurdles (15.68) and Kristina Petkova of Goshen won the 400 (58.81).

At Chesterton

New Prairie's Lillian Zelasko won the 3,200 in 11:17.89 at the Chesterton Sectional.
