These players are the top Class of 2025 high school football recruits from Acadiana

Last week, we covered the top senior high school football players in the Acadiana area to watch for the upcoming season.

Next up, let's dive into the Class of 2025 and see the best handful of prospects that'll be the next big names on the recruiting trail and at a local football stadium near you.

Rankings are based on the 247sports and On3 recruiting services as well as last season's performance.

Jaboree Antoine

Westgate, Athlete

Height: 6-1; Weight: 175

Rundown: Depending on what recruiting site you use, Antoine is either listed at the top player in Louisiana in his class or the second-rated recruit. 247 recently bumped him up to a five-star prospect as he already holds offers from LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Miami. He's expected to be a cornerback on the next level and that's where he played for Westgate. But he also took over at quarterback a few games into 2023 and helped guide the Wildcats to the semifinals. Antoine finished last season with 1,953 all-purpose yards and five interceptions on defense.

TOP CLASS OF 2024 PROSPECTS These players are the top Class of 2024 high school football recruits from Acadiana

Corey Amos

Opelousas, Linebacker

Height: 6-2; Weight: 200

Rundown: No other Class of 2025 prospect in the state has taken off more rapidly this offseason than Opelousas linebacker Corey Amos. He picked up his first college football offer from Penn State back in January and since there's been a steady stream of programs looking at him. Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Miami have also extended Amos an offer. The Opelousas standout has quickly risen to a four-star grade and is now ranked as a consensus top-10 recruit in the state.

Russell Babineaux

Acadiana, Athlete

Height: 5-9; Weight: 160

Rundown: It's no surprise that the Wreckin' Rams' speedster Babineaux opened his recruiting profile as a four-star. There's not a more versatile player in Louisiana than the 5-9, 160-pounder and a bunch of college teams have had him on their radar for some time. LSU, Auburn, Florida State were early on him followed closely by Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Babineaux was an All-Acadiana First Team selection at athlete last season after returning two kickoffs and punts back for touchdowns and totaled 640 return yards for Acadiana.

D'Shaun Ford

Opelousas, Running back

Height: 5-11; Weight: 200

Rundown: Ford is listed as the second-best running back in Louisiana's 2025 class behind Harlem Berry but is among the top 30 in the country. A punishing runner, Ford hardly goes down on first contact and for the Tigers, was clearly the first option. Ford amassed 1,300 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns as Opelousas' featured tailback as a sophomore. With offers from LSU, Florida State, Auburn, Texas A&M already, Ford is rated a four-star prospect by the 247sports composite.
