Play banana! Savannah Bananas to bring Banana Ball World Tour to Louisville in 2024

Get ready to go bananas when the Savannah Bananas bring their Banana Ball World Tour to the Louisville Slugger Field in 2024.

The Savannah Bananas Premier Team will play Banana Ball against their traditional rivals, the Party Animals, at Louisville Slugger Field from Aug. 1-3.

People interested in attending can enter a lottery to buy tickets for the game with winner notifications expected to go out in June.

Who are the Savannah Bananas?

The Savannah Banana Premier Team, not to be confused with the Savannah Bananas collegiate team, is a professional spinoff of the amateur team consisting of former MLB players and collegiate-level players that debuted in 2016.

The team and their unique form of play have garnered fans across the world and even earned them an ESPN+ documentary series and a feature on HBO.

What is Banana Ball?

Savannah Morning News described Banana Ball as "an unorthodox version of (baseball) invented by the Bananas think tank to speed up the game and create more action and drama." Comedy and music are also a large part of every game.

Here are some of the rules of Banana Ball:

  • A two-hour time limit.

  • Each inning is worth one point.

  • Foul balls caught by the fans are considered out.

  • "If the score is even after two hours, the tiebreaker is a showdown between one batter and the pitcher and the catcher and one fielder," according to Savannah Morning News.
