PJ Tucker viewed as best new weapon for Sixers for 2022-23 season

The Philadelphia 76ers accomplished many things in the 2022 offseason. They brought in proven veterans PJ Tucker, De’Anthony Melton and Danuel House Jr. to improve their depth and the supporting cast around their star duo.

With training camp right around the corner and the 2022-23 season looming, now is the time to look back at the offseason and evaluate how the new additions will fit in with their new team and who will have the biggest impact.

Bleacher Report put together a list of the best new weapon for each team in the league and PJ Tucker took home that honor for Philadelphia:

Age will catch up to Tucker at some point, but it apparently hasn’t made any progress yet. Last season, he shot a career-high 41.5 percent from three while routinely taking on Miami’s toughest defensive assignment.

Tucker’s game fits like a tailored suit with James Harden, and it should be no different with Embiid. As long as he avoids any age-related decline, he looks like an opener and closer for the Sixers.

Tucker’s age is certainly a concern for the Sixers, but at the same time, the guy is coming off a terrific season for the Miami Heat and he will be bringing championship experience as well as elite 3-point shooting to help space the floor. He is also a guy who provides an edge in terms of mental toughness.
