Pitching milestones and big performances: Cast your vote for the Hometeam Softball Player of the Week

There were plenty of great performances on the softball field last week, and Jennifer Toland found some of the best for readers to vote on to decide the Hometeam Softball Player of the Week.

Congratulations to Hudson's Alyssa Davis for taking the top spot in last week's poll with 860 votes (26.1 percent) to get past Doherty's Audrey Lefebvre (692 votes) for the honor in a poll with nearly 3,300 votes cast.

Player of the week nominations are selected by reporters based on coaches reporting game results into the Telegram & Gazette sports department and game coverage from the T&G sports department staff. Shayna Bakun, Wachusett

The junior struck out nine in a no-hit shutout of Doherty, and had six strikeouts in a 3-hit shutout of Westfield and led the Mountaineers to a 3-0 week.

Lizzie Brytowski, Hopedale

In a one-hit shutout of BMR, the senior had 15 strikeouts, including the 500th of her career, and she followed up with a 14-strikeout performance against Bay Path while leading the Blue Raiders to a 4-0 week.

Adeline Canney, Millbury

In a win over Southbridge, the freshman pitched a perfect game with 12 strikeouts, and she went 2 for 4 with a home run and 6 RBIs.

Sera DeBaggis, Nipmuc

The senior collected 6 hits, 3 runs and 4 RBIs while leading the Warriors to a pair of wins.

Ariella Donahue, Oxford

The freshman collected seven hits, including a home run and three doubles, to help lead the Pirates to a 4-0 week.

Emma Ellis, Shrewsbury

The sophomore had 4 hits, including 2 doubles, and 4 RBIs in a win over Doherty.

Grace Garon, Shepherd Hill

In the Rams’ two victories, the senior registered five hits, including a grand slam, and scored five runs.

Madelyn Glynn, AMSA

The sophomore collected four hits and drove in six runs in wins over Monty Tech and Littleton.

Marney Hoeske, Ayer-Shirley

The sophomore had three hits, including a home run, and she drove in five runs to help lead the Panthers to a 5-0 week.

Kiley Hogan, Tyngsborough

The sophomore went 10 for 12 (.833) and drove in seven runs, and struck out 27 batters in a pair of victories to lead the Tigers to a 3-0 week.

Colbie Lacina, Hudson

The senior had three hits and drove in four runs in a win over Leominster.

Jillian MacFarlane, Maynard

The junior struck out 14 batters in a win over Murdock, and she had two hits and an RBI in a loss to Littleton.

Mia Manca, Narragansett

The sophomore threw a no-hitter against West Boylston and had 5 hits, including 2 triples, 2 RBIs and 6 runs in a 1-1 week.

Bella Mara, St. Paul

The senior led the Knights to a 3-0 week with three dominant pitching performances. She struck out 16 in a two-hit, 6-1 win over Doherty, hurled a perfect game with 18 strikeouts against Notre Dame Academy, and outdueled Nashoba Regional’s Hannah Reardon in a two-hit shutout with 17 Ks.

Erin O’Day, Uxbridge

In two victories, the sophomore recorded 24 strikeouts, including the 300th of her career, and allowed five hits and one earned run.

Kaleigh Papierski, Auburn

The senior went 3 for 5 with 6 RBIs in a win over Quaboag Regional and had four hits, including a home run, in a victory over Valley Tech.

Mia Pellegrino, Northbridge

The senior had four hits, including the 100th of her career, and struck out five batters in a one-hit shutout of Leicester to lead the Rams in a 3-1 week.

Hannah Reardon, Nashoba

The senior struck out nine batters over six one-hit innings in a win over Groton-Dunstable, and she struck out 16 while allowing one hit in a 1-0 loss to St. Paul.

Catherine Seay, Marlborough

The senior collected 8 hits, including 2 homers, and drove in 11 runs to lead the Panthers to a 2-1 week.

Kalli Sheehan, Valley Tech

During the Beavers’ 2-2 week, the junior collected five hits, including two triples.

Abby Spaulding, Notre Dame Academy

The sophomore collected seven hits and drove in five runs in wins over Fontbonne and Algonquin Regional.

Dakota Vaudreil, Bartlett

The junior struck out 14 batters in a win over Grafton and went 4 for 7 in two games.

Rylee Walton, Tahanto

The senior had three hits, including a home run, and four RBIs in Tahanto’s 2-0 week.

Olivia Wentworth, Gardner

The junior had seven hits, including a home run, scored seven runs and drove in a pair in the Wildcats’ two games.
