Bullitt Central sophomore voted top high school boys player in the Louisville area

Can you believe we're already in the postseason for 2023 KHSAA boys soccer? This season has already been filled with memorable performances and games.

Tripp O’Brien of Bullitt Central has been voted the top high school boys soccer player in the Louisville area after putting together an amazing 2023 season. By the end of the regular season, the sophomore had scored 36 goals and racked up 20 assists. Michael Griffin of Ballard finished second in the poll with 1,487 votes, followed by Cooper Judy of North Oldham with 713 votes.

Abdihakin Ahmed, Butler — Senior goalkeeper has posted six shutouts and allowed 10 goals in 13 matches.

Ali Alkabi, Brown — Senior ranks sixth in the state with 32 goals and also has 10 assists.

Nouh Benaly, South Oldham — Junior has 13 goals and three assists.

Jafet Figueroa, Collegiate — Senior has nine goals and 18 assists.

Michael Griffin, Ballard — Senior goalkeeper has posted five shutouts and allowed 27 goals in 19 matches.

Nick Harshaw, Collegiate — Senior is tied for third in the state with 24 assists and also has 17 goals.

Crew Hartlage, Collegiate — Junior goalkeeper is tied for sixth in the state with eight shutouts and has allowed 16 goals in 18 matches.

Ben Howard, St. Xavier — Senior goalkeeper has allowed 11 goals in 18 matches and posted three shutouts.

Connor Ison, Collins — Senior has 13 goals and four assists.

Cooper Judy, North Oldham — Junior goalkeeper has posted six shutouts and allowed 10 goals in 12 matches.

Silas Mays, Manual — Senior has 14 goals and eight assists.

Cade McKinney, Holy Cross — Junior has 24 goals and nine assists.

Benit Mulume, Butler — Senior has 17 goals.

Tripp O’Brien, Bullitt Central — Sophomore ranks third in the state with 36 goals and also has 20 assists.

Ibrahim Piracha, Manual — Junior ranks 15th in the state with 26 goals and also has 15 assists.

Semir Siljkovic, Fairdale — Sophomore has 20 goals and six assists.

Hayden Stamps, Kentucky Country Day — Sophomore has 20 goals and six assists.

Grayson Travis, Trinity — Junior has 14 goals and 10 assists.

Edward Wheatley, Highlands Latin Sophomore is tied for seventh in the state with 21 assists and also has eight goals.
