Sportsbook Wire: Suns 121, Warriors 117

It writes: "The SUNS (-105) have had the number of the Warriors (-115) in recent seasons, winning 4 of the past 5 meetings straight up. In addition, Green is a big missing piece of the defense for Golden State, so Phoenix should be able to have its way inside. Plus, this Suns team should be much more prolific on offense, getting a little younger with Beal, as opposed to CP3. The Warriors are still dangerous, and will win plenty of games this season, but Phoenix has a formidable Big 3, and a retooled lineup ready to make plenty of noise."

Winners and Whiners: Take the Warriors to open with a win vs. Suns

Chris King writes: "This one is going to be an interesting clash between division rivals who hope to make a run for the NBA title this season. Phoenix is hoping that incorporating Beal into a starting five that has Durant and Booker will pan out though one has to wonder how the shot distribution will work out with that trio. The Suns did a solid job rebuilding their rotation in a busy offseason though it may take a little time for the team to sort out the roles for everyone. Golden State still has the Splash Brothers along with Wiggins providing a solid third scoring option. Green missing the game is a blow as he is a top-level defender. With that said, Golden State is a tough team at home and with the Thompson/Curry duo, they are never out of a game. Take the Warriors at home in this contest as they claw out a win."

Picks Wise: Go with the Warriors on the moneyline vs. Suns

It writes: "For the Warriors, Draymond Green is listed as day-to-day with an ankle sprain but was cleared for 5-on-5 drills on Sunday, making his availability for Tuesday seem likely. While the Suns are loaded with talent, I could see this taking some time to build chemistry with 3 primary scorers on the floor. On top of that, the Warriors at home are one of the toughest opponents for any team — let alone on opening night. Last season the Warriors went 33-8 on their home court and 11-30 on the road. I don’t think inserting Paul into the lineup will be as big of an adjustment as Beal given his role is to feed Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins rather than looking score himself. I’ll back Golden State to open the season with a home win."

Pick Dawgz: Warriors will cover against Suns on Tuesday

Randy Chambers writes: "The Phoenix Suns and the free point is appealing because they're a loaded starting lineup with unreal potential, and they're not going to be dogs often if they play to the level they're capable of. However, the Suns have a lot of new moving pieces, and it may take time to adjust. Also, there's depth issues. Outside of CP3, the Golden State Warriors are pretty much the same team they were a season ago, and that chemistry cant go unnoticed. Also, the Warriors are usually money on their home court, and that includes covers in 14 of their last 19 home games. Give me the Warriors in this near pick 'em spot."

Sporting News: Bet the Warriors to beat Suns in season opener

Stephen Noh writes: "The Suns certainly have a ton of star power in this matchup. Nobody is stopping an offense led by Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Beal. But they don't have the continuity of the Warriors. New teams often have difficulty acclimating to their constant off-ball screening, and the Suns don't yet have the familiarity to nail those rotations. Nurkic is also a terrible fit for this matchup. His lack of mobility defensively is what has limited his effectiveness. The Warriors' motion offense will test him relentlessly."

Picks and Parlays: Suns 1231, Warriors 114

Eddie Kline writes: "Golden State F Draymond Green (ankle) has been cleared for basketball activities and is listed as questionable for this contest. The Warriors took a major step back defensively last season and the Suns have the offensive firepower to expose that. Take Phoenix to win on the road."
