Philadelphia Eagles 2017 captains announced, no more weekly appointees

Eagles are adding a new change this year. The Birds will have actual captains instead of appointing them weekly.

2017 Philadelphia Eagles captains announced

The offensive captions for your 2017 Philadelphia Eagles will be quarterback Carson Wentz and Jason Peters. No surprises here. There has been buzz all offseason of Wentz’s leadership and this just adds on to it. Jason Peters is one of the longest tenured Eagles and is probably the most respected on the team. Peters will also not let anyone mess with his teammates.

Heading the 2017 defensive captains are defensive end Brandon Graham and safety Malcolm Jenkins. These two have shown to be the leaders of the defense and undoubtedly deserve the honor. Graham is coming off an all-pro, pro bowl season, and has proved to be arguably the Eagles best player on defense. Malcolm Jenkins was also an all-pro and pro bowler. He is very well-spoken on and off the field as he exemplifies a team player.

Chris Maragos will be the captain of one of the best special teams units in football. Maragos is a huge part to the Eagles with his disruptive special teams play. He is the leader of that special teams room and will wear the “C” with pride.

Look for these five wearing the “C” at midfield for the coin toss, at 1:00 P.M vs the Washington Redskins.
