PFF: Could the Bills replace Tremaine Edmunds at 2023 NFL draft?

Pro Football Focus named one college football prospect for the Buffalo Bills to watch during the upcoming season.

The selection was Oregon linebacker Justin Flowe.

A top prospect in his own right, if Buffalo was to consider Flowe, he’d likely be a replacement for Tremaine Edmunds.

Edmunds enters the 2022 NFL season playing on the final year of his rookie contract. The Bills picked up the fifth-year option on his deal at the same time the team did with Josh Allen.

However, only Allen has received his long-term extension. Edmunds is still waiting for his as the player and team try to find a compromise.

Edmunds has flashed in his career but has left something to be desired at times. Still, he’s young. Buffalo could very well wait and see how his 2022 year goes before bringing a big offer to the table.

But if the answer ends up being Flowe, here’s how PFF breaks down the possibility:

BUFFALO BILLS: LB JUSTIN FLOWE, OREGON

This is a player every team is going to keep an eye on. Once the No. 1-ranked linebacker recruit (ahead of teammate Noah Sewell), Flowe has managed only 60 snaps in two seasons because of injury. That kind of background means it won’t take long for Flowe to start popping up on NFL radars. With Tremaine Edmunds an impending free agent, replacing one athletic freak with another cheaper one could be an option.
