Pequot Lakes pulls away late, beats Bemidji in straight sets

Aug. 31—PEQUOT LAKES — Pequot Lakes will be a tough opponent in 2023, even for teams who play in a larger class.

The defending Class AA runner-up swept the Bemidji High School volleyball team on Thursday. After a 25-22 victory in the first set, the Patriots pulled away to 25-18 wins in sets two and three.

Mollie Rupp's 19 kills led all Lumberjacks. She also had two aces, matching Brooklyn Saiger. Sammy Nistler paced BHS in digs with 12, while Margie Anderson added 28 more set assists to her resume.
