The Bradley men's basketball team will have a new look when it opens the conference season next month.

The Braves will debut an alternate "Peoria edition" uniform on Dec. 2, when they open defense of their Missouri Valley Conference title against Indiana State at Carver Arena. The game is scheduled to broadcast on ESPNU.

Bradley announced the uniform Sunday in a series of social media posts, including a 42-second video spotlighting the city of Peoria that featured BU players posing with the new-look jerseys on the riverfront. The posts were accompanied by the motto "For the 309. For Peoria."

The uniforms are all white with gray trim, red numbers and feature a grey Peoria skyline with the abbreviation "PIA" on the front. The back features a Bradley logo and large red numerals.

Bradley will begin selling the "Peoria edition" merchandise like jerseys, T-shirts and hoodies on Saturday, Nov. 25 at the home game against Vermont. The school also is offering an online-only "PIA 309" ticket deal for the game against Indiana State; those who buy an upper bowl ticket to the MVC opener for $10 will receive a second for $3.09.

Bradley last season added the retro "script" uniforms, debuting the white uniforms with electric blue trim in December 2022. The team ended up adding a red version in February 2023, wearing the style multiple times through the 2022-23 MVC championship season.

The retro look appears to have become the full-time uniform for the Braves in the 2023-24 season. Their practice gear and both home and away uniforms sport the retro colors and script "Bradley" lettering.

The idea of "city edition" uniforms was popularized in 2016 when the NBA and apparel provider Nike teamed to "pay homage to the history and cultures of all 30 teams and their communities," according to NBA.com. In 2023-24, NBA teams are wearing them during their in-season tournament games.
