14 Peoria-area girls basketball players selected all-state by the Illinois media in 2024

Peoria Notre Dame's Mya Wardle and Peoria High's Aaliyah Guyton were named first-team all-state by the Illinois Media group this week.

Wardle, a 5-foot-7 senior point guard, was the second leading voter-getter on the six-member first team in Class 2A. The Eastern Kentucky signee, leads the top-ranked Irish into the Class 2A state championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday in Normal. She averages 13.7 points, 7.1 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 3.5 steals.

Guyton, a 5-foot-8 Iowa recruit, was named to the five-player Class 3A first team. She tore the anterior cruciate ligament of her right knee on Dec. 30 and missed the remainder of the season. Galesburg's Kiarra Kilgore, a 5-9 senior guard, was named to the five-player second team.

In Class 1A, 5-foot-10 senior guard/forward Lily Luczkowiak of Illini Bluffs is a part of the six-member second team. She averages 19.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 3.7 steals for the sixth-ranked Tigers, who face Okawville at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Class 1A championship game.

Peoria-area honorable mention players from Class 1A include Ali Bosnich (St. Bede, senior), Brianna Brodie (Princeville, senior), Kennedy Quinn (Abingdon-Avon, freshman) and Kennady Anderson (Wethersfield, senior). The Class 2A honorable mentions are Dalia Dejesus (Deer Creek-Mackinaw, sophomore), Kaitlin White (Fieldcrest, senior) and Carmyn Huston (Monmouth-Roseville, senior). In Class 3A, the honorable mentions were: Julia Sollberger (Dunlap, senior), Addy Engel (Morton, senior) and Avery Tibbs (Washington, sophomore).
