Penn State extends offer to four-star linebacker from Miami

Penn State had a productive weekend of recruiting with a quarterback commitment in the Class of 2024 and some new offers being extended to recruiting targets. Among those receiving a scholarship offer was Ezekiel Marcelin, a four-star linebacker out of Miami, Florida who was in town for an unofficial visit this weekend.

Marcelin announced he received an offer on his Twitter account Saturday evening. Marcelin said he had a great conversation with Penn State head coach James Franklin, defensive coordinator Manny Diaz, and recruiting coordinator Alan Zemaitis.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Marcelin is a four-star recruit in the Class of 2025. The 247Sports composite ranking ranks him as the 45th-best player overall in the state of Florida and the 33rd-best linebacker in the nation in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

247Sports’ individual ranking gives Marcelin a three-star rating. On3, Rivals, and ESPN all have three-star recruiting rankings for Marcelin, yet the composite average on 247 and On3 both yield a fourth star.

Other schools to have offers on the table for Marcelin at this point include Michigan, Michigan State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, Miami, and Florida State.

Penn State’s Class of 2024 list of commitments at the moment includes two linebackers with Anthony Specca and Kari Jackson. Penn State’s Class of 2025 currently has three commitments on the board; offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews, running back Kiandrea Barker, and safety Omari Gaines.
