Penn State adds another member to Class of 2023

It wasn’t enough to simply win a football game against Ohio in the home opener for Penn State head coach James Franklin. To cap off the day that saw the Nittany Lions improve to 2-0 behind a brilliant showing from some of its youngest stars in the making, Penn State received a commitment from Class of 2023 cornerback Zion Tracy.

tracy made his official visit to Penn State on Saturday to soak in Penn State’s 46-10 victory over Ohio up close and in person. As expected, Tracy gave Penn State his verbal commitment while visiting, doing so in a postgame chat with Franklin according to Lions247.

Tracy shared the news of his commitment on his Twitter account following the game.

Tracy ultimately committed to Penn State over Rutgers, Syracuse, and Buffalo. Those were the remaining three schools joining Penn State in Tracy’s top four prior to his visit to Penn State. Penn State had been perceived to be the leader in the final days of his recruiting process.

Tracy is a three-star recruit from Connecticut according to both 247Sports and On3. He becomes the 20th player to commit in Penn State’s Class of 2023, which was most recently ranked No. 12 on the 247Sports composite team rankings in the nation, and second among Big Ten schools behind Ohio State.
