Penguins cancel practice out of concern for COVID-19

The Pittsburgh Penguins canceled their training camp practice and scrimmage on Saturday due to COVID-19 concerns.

The team said the decision was made "out of an abundance of caution due to potential exposure of COVID-19."

The Penguins are the third NHL team in two days to alter their practice session due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Dallas Stars canceled practice on Friday after six players and two staff members recently tested positive for COVID-19. The Stars ultimately had their first two games of the season against the Florida Panthers postponed.

The Stars' training facilities will remain closed for several days while further daily testing and contact tracing is conducted.

The Columbus Blue Jackets had several players miss practice on Friday "out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with NHL COVID-19 protocols."
