Payton Weidemann, Jacks shut out Sartell/Sauk Rapids for 2nd straight win

Nov. 18—BEMIDJI — Goaltender Payton Weidemann is putting together a solid start to her senior season.

On Saturday, Weidemann made 22 saves in a shutout for the Bemidji High School girls hockey team. The Lumberjacks blanked Sartell/Sauk Rapids 4-0 at the Bemidji Community Arena.

Through three games, Weidemann has a .937 save percentage and a 1.33 goals-against average. She's 2-1 this season with 59 saves.

BHS scored its first goal in the opening frame. Naomi Johnson got things started before Bailey Rupp scored in the second period. Sammy Nistler and MaKenna Dreher also scored in the 4-0 win.

The Jacks moved to 3-1 this season. The Storm'n Sabres dropped to 0-2.
