Patriots elevate former first-round pick WR from practice squad

Former first-round draft pick wideout Jalen Reagor is getting his first shot at game action in a New England Patriots uniform.

The team announced on Saturday that they were elevating Reagor and linebacker Calvin Munson ahead of Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

Reagor coming up to the main roster likely isn’t a good sign for veteran receiver DeVante Parker, who is still working his way back from a knee injury.

Things haven’t clicked for Reagor at the NFL level, but he’s still a dangerous playmaker in more of a gadget role. He could see some action against a Dolphins defense that gave up 34 points to the Los Angeles Chargers last week.

Offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien will have to get creative to keep the team in the fight with the Dolphins’ high-powered offense. So he’s sure to dial up a wrinkle or two.
