Pascal Siakam traded from Raptors to Pacers. What to know about Cameroon native.

Pascal Siakam is headed to Indiana.

According to reports, the two-time All-Star with Toronto Raptors will be traded to the Pacers as part of a three-team deal. Siakam, who will be 30 in April, won a title with Toronto in 2019 and fills a major need for the Pacers at the power forward spot.

In 2019, Siakam won the Most Improved Player of the Year award. He was named All-NBA Second Team in 2020 and was on the third team in 2022. During his first season in the NBA in 2017, Siakam won a D-League championship and was named D-League Finals MVP.

Siakam was born in Douala, Cameroon. His father was once the mayor of Makénéné, a town in Cameroon.

Pascal Siakam played college basketball at New Mexico State

Siakam moved to the United States when he was 18 and committed to New Mexico State University. He redshirted in 2013-14 due to an injury but was named the Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year the following season.

In 2015-16, Siakam averaged 20.2 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks and was awarded the WAC Player of the Year. He was drafted in the first round (27th overall) by the Raptors in 2016.

In eight seasons, Siakam has averaged 17.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists. He has also shot 49% from the floor, 33% from 3-point range and 77% from the free throw line.

However, the last five years have been Siakam's best. He has averaged at least 21 points and 7 rebounds a game. This season with Toronto, he has put up 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists.
