Panthers S Vonn Bell: Team is already like a family

For the first four years of his NFL career, Vonn Bell was stationed directly in enemy territory with the New Orleans Saints. But now, he’s already feeling like one of the cats.

After wrapping up the opening session of voluntary minicamp on Tuesday, the new Carolina Panthers safety hit the podium for the first time since signing his three-year, $22.5 million deal. The 28-year-old told reporters that the team already has the feel of a family.

“It’s a funny group, I can say that,” Bell stated with a smile. “Lot of personality. It’s great. Guys love being around each other, love talking ball, talking about each other’s families, getting to know another outside of ball. Just being around each other—and that’s the biggest thing. It’s like a family. You already feel the closeness of the group.”

Bell comes over after spending the last three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. There, the former second-round pick played what was arguably his best pro ball—averaging 96 tackles per campaign while chalking up five interceptions and eight forced fumbles dating back to 2020.

And now, he’s hoping to bring that over to his new digs. Welcome to the fam, Vonn.
