Raiders vs. Packers Monday Night Football highlights: Las Vegas ends three-game skid
Maxx Crosby and the Las Vegas Raiders snapped their three-game losing streak.
Raiders running back Josh Jacobs scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter and the club was able to hold off the Green Bay Packers to win 17-13 in front of their home fans.
Neither offense was able to find a rhythm on Monday night. Packers quarterback Jordan Love tossed three interceptions and was sacked twice in what was a tough night for the QB.
The Raiders came into Week 5 with just one takeaway. The Raiders had three takeaways Monday night. Linebacker Robert Spillane had two interceptions and cornerback Amik Robertson had an interception with under a minute remaining in the fourth quarter that sealed the game for Las Vegas.
Crosby was a huge reason why the Packers never got anything going offensively. He was a menace on the field. The Raiders defensive end had five tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack in the win.
The win moved the Raiders to 2-3 on the season. Green Bay dropped to 2-3. — Tyler Dragon

Maxx Crosby: Jordan Love is going to have the Pro Bowl edge rusher in his nightmares after this MNF encounter. Despite getting double-teamed often by the Packers' line, Crosby was a regular fixture in the Packers' backfield, registering a sack, a quarterback hit and four tackles for loss
Robert Spillane: Spillane is the first Raiders linebacker to have multiple interceptions in a game since William Thomas in 2001.
Davante Adams: Adams' numbers weren't eye-popping — four catches on four targets for 45 yards — but he made key plays on the drive that put the Raiders ahead for good against his former team. Adams had three receptions, including a 21-yard catch and a 7-yard grab on third-and-3, setting up teammate Josh Jacobs' 2-yard score that wound up being the winning touchdown.
Christian Watson: In his second game back from a hamstring injury, Watson appeared to be the defense-bending deep threat the Packers need in what has been an uninspiring offense for much of the season so far. Love and Watson could not connect on a couple times on deep throws, but the two did hook up for a 77-yard catch-and-run play that set up a field goal.
Detroit Lions: Yes, we know, the Lions didn't play Monday night. But, with the Packers' defeat, coupled with the Lions' dominant win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Detroit is in control of the NFC North with a two-game lead after five played. While the Lions look like one of the NFC's best teams, the division-rival Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears don't appear to be anywhere near the Lions' class.
LOSERS
Jordan Love: Love is going to experience ups and downs in his first year as a starting quarterback. However, this is two downs in a row, both in front of a national television audience. After throwing two interceptions on a "Thursday Night Football" loss to the Detroit Lions, Love threw three picks against the Raiders. Love now has thrown an interception in three consecutive games, the longest such streak for a Packers quarterback since 2017. Love finished the game completing 16 of 30 passes for 182 yards.
Offensive football: The NFL has repeatedly tweaked the rulebook to make things easier for offenses. Despite that advantage courtesy of the league's competition committee, both the Raiders' and Packers' offenses were on the struggle bus Monday night. While the Packers gained 285 yards, the Raiders mustered just 279.
Josh McDaniels: This is the second time this season that Josh McDaniels made a head-scratching late-game decision. During a Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, McDaniels opted for a field goal when trailing by eight late in game. On Monday night, McDaniels — with his team facing a fourth-and-1 from the Packers' 34-yard line — opted for a 52-yard field goal attempt from Daniel Carlson. Carlson missed, giving the Packers a chance to win the game with a touchdown. Fortunately for McDaniels, Amik Robertson picked off Love in the end zone to seal the win. — Jim Reineking
Raiders snag interception to secure first win over Packers since 1987
After a controversial field goal attempt, the Raiders defense did what its special teams couldn’t and locked in their first win over the Green Bay Packers since 1987.
On third-and-10 from the Las Vegas 35-yard line and down 17-13 with 44 seconds in the game, Jordan Love lined up in shotgun and surveyed the field. He scrambled out of the pocket and launched the ball downfield to Christian Watson in the end zone.
Raiders cornerback Amik Robertson leaped in front of him and snagged the ball. It was one of three interceptions for Las Vegas on the night.

Daniel Carlson misses second field goal, Raiders fail to secure win
It might not be Mario Cristobal bad, but Josh McDaniels will receive criticism for attempting a 52-yard field goal on fourth-and-2 from Green Bay’s 34-yard line.
With his team up 17-13, Raiders coach had the two-minute warning to decide what to do. He called Daniel Carlson out onto the field even though running back Josh Jacobs was moving the ball during the drive. The kicker lined up and knocked the ball toward the upright where it doinked off the right post and was no good.
The Packers got the ball with 1:55 on the clock to try to close the four-point gap.

Robert Spillane gets his second INT
Raiders CB Marcus Peters and LB Robert Spillane ended a promising drive by the Packers.
Peters tipped a Jordan Love pass intended for Christian Watson and it was intercepted by Spillane.

Raiders 17, Packers 13: Josh Jacobs scores after key catches from Davante Adams
The Raiders got back on top with a touchdown in the third quarter.
Josh Jacobs ran the ball in for a 2-yard score.
On the drive, Davante Adams had three receptions, including a 21-yard catch and a 7-yard grab on third-and-three to set up the score.

Packers 13, Raiders 10: Long Christian Watson catch and run leads to FG
The Raiders secondary got lost in coverage and it led to wide open Christian Watson.
Packers QB Jordan Love lofted an easy pass to Watson and he ran 77 yards down the field to put the Packers in the red zone. To put insult to injury, Raiders CB Marcus Peters was flagged for a horse collar tackle at the end of the play.
The Raiders red zone defense was able to keep Green Bay out of the end zone. The Packers had to settle for a 22-yard field goal by Anders Carlson. — Tyler Dragon
Packers 10, Raiders 10: Green Bay capitalizes on INT
The Packers rode running back AJ Dillon following Jimmy Garoppolo’s interception.
The Packers ran the football six times to Dillon and the last run play resulted in a 5-yard TD run for the downhill running back.
Green Bay called six running plays on their eight-play, 37-yard touchdown drive.
Dillon now has 14 carries, 62 rushing yards and a TD tonight. — Tyler Dragon
Two Packers starting defensive players ruled out
After leaving the game in the first half with a knee injury, Packers second-year linebacker Quay Walker has been ruled out for the rest of the game, the team announced.
With De'Vondre Campbell also not playing, the Packers are counting on Isaiah McDuffie and Eric Wilson to fill those shoes at inside linebacker.
Starting safety Darnell Savage also has been ruled out with a calf injury. That means Jonathan Owens, record-setting gymnast Simone Biles' husband, will be called on to fill Savage's role. — Jim Reineking
Rudy Ford picks off Jimmy Garoppolo
The Las Vegas Raiders took the woes from their missed field goal to end the first half into the second.
Jimmy Garoppolo threw an interception on the first drive of the third quarter. On second-and-13 from their own 37-yard line, he faked the handoff to Josh Jacobs, then scuttled backwards as the pocket collapsed. He threw to the left toward Jakobi Meyers, who was waiting at the first-down marker with three Packers defenders lurking.
Rudy Ford leaped in front of the throw and picked it off. He skipped forward for nine yards. This is the safety’s second interception in as many games. — Victoria Hernandez
Raiders in control, but only lead by TD at halftime
The Las Vegas Raiders have held down their home turf and lead the Green Bay Packers 10-3 at the half.
They capped off the second quarter with a 41-yard drive, ending in a field goal attempt that was blocked by Yosh Nijman.
Raiders receiver Davante Adams got his first catch against his former team, a 12-yard reception in the first quarter. It’s been his only target so far.
Jimmy Garoppolo has gone 12-of-17 for 126 yards and threw a touchdown to Jakobi Meyers in a 14-play drive that went nearly eight and a half minutes. The receiver has four catches for 52 yards.
For the Packers, Jordan Love is 7-of-12 for 56 yards and an interception, which he threw right to Las Vegas linebacker Robert Spillane. — Victoria Hernandez
Packers offensive lineman redirects field goal attempt
Offensive linemen rarely block field goal attempts, but it happened at the end of the first half on Monday night.
Packers offensive lineman Yosh Nijman got his finger tips on Daniel Carlson’s 53-yard field goal attempt. Nijman’s finger-tip block sailed the football wide left of the uprights.

Packers LB Quay Walker questionable to return
Packers second-year linebacker Quay Walker left the game during the first half and was seen entering the blue medical tent.
The team later announced that Walker was questionable to return with a knee injury. That means the team is playing without its top two inside linebackers as De'Vondre Campbell was inactive with an ankle injury.

Raiders 10, Packers 3: Jordan Love INT leads to field goal
Jordan Love would definitely like a redo on his interception.
On Green Bay’s fourth possession, Love threw the football right to Raiders linebacker Robert Spillane for an easy interception. Spillane returned the interception 23 yards to the Green Bay seven-yard line.
The Raiders weren’t able to turn the interception into seven points. The Packers defense stood strong and only allowed a short field goal from Daniel Carlson after the INT. — Tyler Dragon
Raiders 7, Packers 3: Jimmy Garoppolo connects with Jakobi Meyers for TD
The Las Vegas Raiders leapt ahead of the Green Bay Packers with a 9-yard touchdown.
On second-and-six, Jimmy Garoppolo lined up in the shotgun. He quickly struck to the center of the field and found Jakobi Meyers at the goal line. Packers safety Rudy Ford wrapped the receiver up, but Meyers forced his way into the end zone for the score.
On the drive, the Raiders converted a fourth-and-one play with a three-yard run by DeAndre Carter.

Raiders offense starts first quarter slow
The Raiders have gotten off to a slow start at home.
Las Vegas was unable to convert a single third down, and Jimmy Garoppolo was sacked twice in the opening quarter.
The Packers managed 100 total yards in the quarter and were able to make a field goal to score the first points of the game.

Packers 3, Raiders 0: Anders Carlson breaks scoreless deadlock
The Packers put a decent drive together midway through the first quarter, thanks to Jordan Love’s 26-yard scramble that put the team in Las Vegas territory.

Davante Adams' first catch vs. Packers goes for first down
A major headline of the 2022 offseason was the Green Bay Packers trading All-Pro receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Adams got his first catch against his former team on Monday night, a 12-yard strike from Jimmy Garoppolo in the first quarter. The 30-year-old took the short pass and hustled downfield where he stutter-stepped out of bounds after getting the first down.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights celebrated their Stanley Cup victory on Monday by lighting the Al Davis Torch at Allegiant Stadium to open the Las Vegas Raiders’ Monday night game against the Green Bay Packers.
The crowd cheered for the hometown team, who captured the title this summer by defeating the Florida Panthers in five games.

Packers haven't lost to Raiders since 1987
The Packers have an eight-game winning streak in matchups against the Raiders, a streak that began in 1990, when the Don Majkowski-led Packers defeated the Raiders at the LA Coliseum.
The last time that the Raiders defeated the Packers came during Week 1 of the 1987 season. The Raiders shut out the Packers, 20-0, at Lambeau Field. The quarterbacks that day ... Marc Wilson and Rusty Hilger for the Raiders, and Randy Wright and pre-Majik Man Majkowski for the Packers.
The most famous meeting during the Packers' win streak vs. the Raiders came on "Monday Night Football" in 2003, when Brett Favre played on the day after his father passed away.

Expect Green Bay to be an up-and-down team all season. Even then, Las Vegas is still a bigger risk here, even if Jimmy Garoppolo can play. Las Vegas has an NFL-worst -9 turnover differential and coach Josh McDaniels’ game management has been questionable at times this season.

Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams and the Raiders are growing more frustrated with every loss. Adams will be motivated against his former team, but a lack of execution and ill-advised mistakes will doom Las Vegas once again. The Raiders have an AFC-most 10 giveaways. Jordan Love and the Packers get a win in prime time.

The Packers had a few more days to rest and prepare after losing to the Detroit Lions. The Raiders, meanwhile, can’t seem to catch a break. They seem to be tired and frustrated after losing three in a row this season and seven of their last nine matchups dating back to last year.
Jordan Mendoza: Packers 24, Raiders 19
If he can play, Davante Adams will want to show out against his former team, but history isn't on his side. The last time the Raiders beat the Packers was 1987. Green Bay has won eight straight against Las Vegas, and they make it nine with Jordan Love having the best game of his first season as a starter.

Scott Van Pelt forced to sit out 'Monday Night Countdown'
After waking up with no voice, Scott Van Pelt is unavailable to host "Monday Night Countdown" for Week 5, the ESPN host posted on social media ahead of the Las Vegas Raiders hosting the Green Bay Packers.
"Unfortunately, I woke up to zero voice at all," Van Pelt wrote on X. "Just gone. As a result, no trip to Vegas for Monday Night Countdown or @SportsCenter."
Joe Buck and his wife Michelle Beisner-Buck, the "Countdown" team's features reporter for the past two seasons, will jointly assume Van Pelt's hosting duties. Beisner-Buck has been with ESPN since 2014, and Buck joined her at the network last year.
