Packers earn three first places at initial quad meet

Mar. 8—MOULTRIE — During their first home meet of the season, the Packers had five athletes take a first place finish over three events.

Ty Lamar, Jalen Clayton, Joshua Alford and Dy James made up the relay team for both the 4x100-meter and the 4x200.

The quartet completed the 4x100 in 44.37 seconds, and the 4x200 in 1:31.91, receiving first place in both.

Competing in the triple jump, the fifth Packer to see first place was Ty'Querrius Lamar with a distance of 41 feet 8 inches.

Also placing in the triple jump were Ameri Knighton in fifth with 39-0, followed by Nishawn Osby's distance of 37-9 for sixth place.

Four other events saw Packers athletes finish in either second or third place.

Chris Williams took second place in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.35 seconds.

Also taking second place was the 4x400 relay team, composed of: JaQuez Collier, Matt Bryant, Robert Baker and Ja'shar Kinsey. They finished the face in 3:40.29.

The 200 hurdle's third place finisher was Alfonso McNeil.

The last two high placements for the Pacers came from field events.

JarTavius Flounoy third place discus throw was 129-9, and Bryce Toomer's 48-2.5 shot put earned him third place as well.

Also placing in discus, directly behind Flounoy in fourth place, was Toomer with a distance of 126-8.

Three other Packer athletes also placed in shot put.

Flounoy, with 42-1, took fifth; Johnny Clay, with 41-5, took sixth and, with 38-6.25, Rafael King took ninth.

Before the meet's conclusion, the Packer would see eight other placements with a single digit.

Jermey Osby took sixth in the 100 with a time of 11.57.

In the 200, Labralen Jenkins, with a finishing time of 25.79, placed ninth.

Two athletes placed in the 400. Raheem King finished fifth with 56.84, and in eighth was Gage Dorsey with a time of 57.70.

The final track even to see a higher position in the finishing lineup was the 4x800, which was a ran by the following Packer athletes: Jayln Green, Baker, Timothy Downs and Andrick Esquiuel.

In field events, taking ninth in the long jump with a distance of 17-3 was Baker.

Finally, also in field events, the high jump saw two Packer athletes place.

Kinsey placed fourth with a height of 5-6, and in seventh was Arbashaun Curry with 5-6.

The next track and field meet for the Packers will also be held at Packer Park on March 20. The initial events will begin at 4 p.m.
