Packers awarded pair of compensatory picks in 2023 NFL draft

The NFL awarded the Green Bay Packers a pair of compensatory draft picks in the 2023 NFL draft on Thursday. The Packers added a fifth-round pick (No. 170 overall) and a seventh-round pick (No. 256) for losses during unrestricted free agency last year.

The Packers will now have 10 total picks (including four in the seventh round) in the 2023 draft.

The players that factored into the Packers’ compensatory picks were the loss of Lucas Patrick (Bears), Chandon Sullivan (Vikings) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Chiefs) and the addition of Jarran Reed (Chiefs).

The Packers were one of 11 teams to receive multiple compensatory picks in the 2023 draft.

The Packers also received two compensatory picks last year.

Since 1994, the Packers rank third in the NFL in awarded compensatory picks with 49. Only the Baltimore Ravens (55) and Dallas Cowboys (52) have received more.

The league awarded 37 total compensatory picks to 16 teams in 2023.
