Oshkosh West, Oakfield 1-2 in high school softball rankings; Waupun remains No. 1 in baseball

Here are the high school softball and baseball rankings for the Oshkosh and Fond du Lac area through Tuesday's games.

Softball

1, Oshkosh West (19-4): Wildcats suffer 3-2 loss to Kimberly on Tuesday, but are still second in the Fox Valley Association behind undefeated and two-time Division 1 state champ Kaukauna.

2, Oakfield (19-2): Oaks capture Trailways-North title (16-0) with 9-0 victory over Cambria-Friesland. Oakfield's offense is efficient and is batting .530 collectively. Team's two losses have come to New Holstein and Marshall.

3, Mayville (15-3): Cardinals finish in tie with Winnebago Lutheran for Flyway Conference title. Team finished regular season on eight-game win streak, including wins over Lomira, Winnebago Lutheran and Horicon.

4, Winnebago Lutheran (17-2): Vikings down a spot after loss to Mayville last week. Team's only other loss came to Lomira on May 5.

5, Waupun (17-5): Warriors finish in second place in East Central Conference behind Kewaskum. Junior first baseman Lexie Gerritson batting .532 with three home runs and 33 RBIs.

Others: Lomira (16-6), Winneconne (14-9), Fond du Lac (12-11), Lourdes Academy (10-9).

Baseball

1, Waupun (17-3): Warriors second in East Central Conference behind Kettle Moraine Lutheran and battle KML in key conference game Thursday. Team finishes up regular season with home games against Lakeside Lutheran on Monday and Omro on Tuesday.

2, Oakfield (13-2): Oaks are a game-and-a-half behind Markesan in the Trailways-North and battle Hornets on Thursday. Senior pitcher Hunter Sabel leads team with 5-2 record and 1.20 ERA.

3, Lomira (12-5): Lions rocket up rankings and have won 10 of their last 11 games, including a 10-1 victory over Campbellsport on Tuesday. Team gets rematch with Cougars on Thursday.

4, Laconia (14-5): Spartans get 5-1 victory over Winnebago Lutheran on Tuesday and are tied with Campbellsport for second in the Flyway Conference (9-4).

5, Campbellsport (12-7): Cougars tumble to No. 5 in rankings after tough week where they finished 2-3, including losses to Flyway Conference foes Laconia and Lomira.

Others: St. Mary's Springs (12-7).
