Originally Red River Shootout, Texas vs. Oklahoma renamed as Allstate Red River Rivalry
The Texas-Oklahoma game is a college football tradition and has gone by several names, from the original, beloved Red River Shootout to, most recently, the Red River Showdown.
I don't care what the suits say, it's called the Red River ____________.

The annual clash in October on the state fairgrounds at the Cotton Bowl is being rechristened again as the Allstate Red River Rivalry. The new name will take effect this year in the 119th meeting between the two teams in Dallas on Oct. 7.
“This is one of the most storied rivalries in college football, and we’re excited to be part of a game with such a rich history and spirited fans,” said Dan Keats, director of consumer marketing and sponsorship at Allstate. “We look forward to seeing both flagship universities face off at the Texas State Fair this year.”
Last year's matchup was barely a contest, a 49-0 Longhorns win. That game brought the return of starting quarterback Quinn Ewers from an injury and was UT's most lopsided victory in the 118-year series, bypassing 33-point triumphs in 1941 and 2005.
