Oregon State football live updates: No. 15 Beavers beat No. 18 UCLA

No. 15 Oregon State hosts No. 18 UCLA at 5 p.m. Saturday at Reser Stadium.

The Beavers are 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Pac-12, coming off a 52-40 win against California.

The Bruins are 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference, coming off a 25-17 win against Washington State.

The game is broadcast on Fox.

Oregon State is a 4-point home favorite.

8:35 p.m.: Beavers beat UCLA

Oregon State beats UCLA 36-24. The Beavers improve to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Pac-12.

Oregon State has a bye week next week, before playing Oct. 28 at Arizona.

UCLA’s Carson Steele scores on a 7-yard touchdown run.

7:30 p.m.: Beavers’ offense still rolling

DJ Uiagalelei connects with Jack Velling for a 32-yard touchdown pass to give the Beavers a 36-17 lead, with 4:24 left in the third quarter.

7:20 p.m.: UCLA answers quickly

UCLA’s T.J. Harden scores on a 9-yard touchdown run to cut Oregon State’s lead to 29-17, with 7:07 left in the third quarter.

7:15 p.m.: Beavers add to lead in the third quarter

DJ Uiagalelei connects with Silas Bolden for a 43-yard touchdown to give Oregon State a 29-10 lead with 9:12 left in the third quarter.

Oregon State’s Deshaun Fenwick fumbled the ball, and it was recovered by UCLA. That led to an R.J. Lopez 36-yard field goal.

The Beavers lead 13-10 with 6:01 left in the second quarter.

6 p.m.: UCLA finds the end zone

UCLA’s Logan Loya caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Dante Moore.

The Beavers’ lead is cut to 13-7, with 12:44 left in the second quarter.

5:45 p.m.: Another interception leads to Beavers’ score

Oregon State’s Andrew Chatfield intercepted UCLA quarterback Dante Moore. That set up the Beavers’ 10-yard touchdown pass from Aidan Chiles to Jack Velling.

On UCLA’s opening drive, Bruins quarterback Dante Moore was intercepted by Oregon State’s Akili Arnold.

3 p.m.: Beavers and UCLA has been a rare matchup in recent years

An interesting fact about this game is that it will be just the second time Oregon State has faced UCLA since Jonathan Smith, who is in his sixth season, became head coach.

In 2019, the Beavers won 48-31 at UCLA.

Oregon State was originally supposed to host UCLA in 2020, but when the schedule was changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bruins were dropped.
