Opinions on LeBron and Bronny James playing together are anything but unanimous

Should LeBron and Bronny James play together on the same NBA team? Many would say it’s good for basketball, but not everyone thinks that.

Rookie Wire recently shared this story:

“The possibility of Bronny sharing the court with LeBron has created quite a storyline since no father and son have appeared in the same game in NBA history. LeBron has expressed interest in playing with Bronny and could make it happen as soon as next year. However, not everyone wants to see the two become teammates.

“Former player Austin Rivers, an 11-year veteran who played for his father, Doc Rivers, from 2015-2018 with the LA Clippers, pushed back against the potential pairing based on his own experience.”

Austin Rivers memorably did not get along all that well with his father, Doc Rivers, within the context of a player-coach relationship. Father and son is one thing, but coach and player is a different dynamic. It’s not a clear-cut situation.

One other variable: Which team would be the best — or worst — fit for the Jameses? That has to be factored into the equation. Debate about this topic will only intensify in the months to come.
