Oneonta girls rally to take down Waverly at home 48-42

Jan. 30—The Oneonta girls basketball team rallied in the second half to defeat Waverly 48-42 at home Tuesday.

The Yellowjackets received contributions from up and down the lineup: Selene Wellman had a team-high 18 points, Jordan Bellinger notched 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Hayden LeFever pulled down 16 rebounds to go with six points and Isabella Giacomelli notched 14 rebounds and four steals to go with three points.

Oneonta (6-9) will visit Susquehanna Valley Friday.

Schenevus 49, Gilboa/Windham-Ashland-Jewett 31

Schenevus defeated Gilboa/Windham-Ashland-Jewett 49-31 Tuesday at home.

Autumn Burton had a game-high 21 points for the Dragons while Sam Barrett and Amber Burton added 11 and 9 points, respectively, in the win.

Ashtyn Hansen had 17 points to pace G/WAJ while Hannah Tuttle added 12 points in the loss.

Schenevus will host Laurens/Milford Wednesday.

Cherry Valley-Springfield 67, Franklin 40

Cherry Valley-Springfield jumped out to a 38-12 halftime advantage against Franklin Tuesday en route to a 67-40 road win in Tri-Valley League play.

Morgan Huff scored a game-high 24 points in the win while Mia Dubben and Daphnee West each finished in double figures as well with 17 and 14 points, respectively.

Shannon Kingsbury paced Franklin with 18 points while Maddie Hyzer added 12.

CV-S will visit Charlotte Valley Thursday while Franklin will be at South Kortright the same day.

Hunter-Tannersville 38, Roxbury 23

Hunter-Tannersville defeated Roxbury 38-23 on the road Tuesday.

Julia Legg had a game-high 19 points for H-T while Emma Constable added seven.

Riley Goodchild led Roxbury with 11 points while Jacey O'Donnell grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss.

Bainbridge-Guilford 41, Walton/Downsville 32 (Monday)

Bainbridge-Guilford overcame a slow start to defeat Walton/Downsville 41-32 Monday in Downsville.

W/D opened the game with an 11-0 first-quarter lead but B-G fought back capped by a 13-2 fourth-quarter run.

Jayslin Henderson tallied 14 points, nine rebounds and six steals while Johnna Henderson had 12 points and six steals and Marissa Mayo added 10 points and six rebounds in the win.

Grace Walley led W/D with a double-double of 12 points, 12 rebounds and seven steals.

B-G improves to 8-7 and will host Greene Friday while W/D falls to 8-8 and will visit Deposit-Hancock Wednesday.

The Cooperstown volleyball team nearly completed a dramatic comeback Monday but eventually fell short in a five-set loss to Mount Markham.

The Hawkeyes lost by scores of 25-23, 25-17, 21-25, 22-25, 15-9.

The team's top performers included Sophia Hotaling (33 digs), Alexis Wolfe (13 digs, 12 assists), Lucy Hayes (14 assists, 11 digs), Violet Gentiles (20 digs) and Mia Pelcer (14 digs, 12 kills, five aces).

Cooperstown will host Waterville Wednesday.
